Music is a social activity and Mitchell Conservatorium offers a wide range of ensemble playing and singing opportunities, through our in-house ensembles and choirs, vocal and instrumental ensembles and our affiliation with many community groups.
Mitchell Conservatorium also provides professional musical direction for community bands, school music ensembles and community choirs.
These ensembles present a diverse range of performance programs across the region and include regular community concerts including:
• Providing music for special events such as the Bathurst Spring Gardens Festival, Bathurst Arts and Crafts Show
• Annual Mitchell Conservatorium Ensembles Concert
• Annual Winter Showcase Concerts
• Major Concerts in larger local venues
MitCon offers ensembles in:
• Brass
• Guitar
• Flute
• Percussion
• Recorder
• Strings
• Ukulele
• Voice
• Woodwind
Ensemble members benefit from access to regular workshops, master classes and performance opportunities with visiting artists and regional NSW partnerships with organisations such as Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Playerlink, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Opera Australia, The Song Company and others.
Affiliated local ensembles include:
• Allegri Singers;
• The Bathurst City and RSL Concert Band;
•The Lithgow Community Orchestra; and
• The Lachlan Community Orchestra.
